What an LLM is
Understand why the way you ask changes the answer.
An LLM (large language model) learned from huge amounts of text to predict the next word. It does not search a database or "know" things like a person: it writes the most likely continuation of what you give it. That is why a clear prompt with context gets a better answer than a vague one.
- Instruction: what you ask it to do.
- Context: the facts it needs and who it is for.
- Examples: one or two show the style better than adjectives.
- Format: how you want to receive it.

Tokens and context
Know how much the model reads and why long chats use more of your plan.
Models read and write in tokens, small pieces of words. The context window is how many tokens the model can see at once: your message, the earlier messages it receives and its answer. In Drommo, longer prompts, photos and Memory send more tokens, so they use a little more of your plan's usage limit.
- Put the most important instruction at the start or the end.
- Paste only the part of a document you need.
- In a very long chat, start a new one with a short summary of what matters.

Made-up answers
Reduce errors and check what matters.
Because it predicts likely text, a model can state wrong facts with confidence ("hallucinations"), especially names, numbers, dates, quotes and links. It does not lie on purpose: it fills gaps. Your prompt can make that less likely.
- Give it the facts instead of asking it to remember them.
- Allow it to say "I don't know".
- Ask it to separate facts from guesses.
- Check numbers, laws and health advice with a reliable source.
Using only the text I paste below, list the deadlines it mentions. If a date is not in the text, write "not stated". Do not add anything else.

Choose the model
Pick the right model for each job in Drommo.

| More powerful | Long analysis, careful writing, code and reasoning. |
Start with a fast model; switch to a more powerful one when the answer needs more depth. The model menu in Settings or in the + menu shows each group.

Challenge: Find one task where the fast model is enough and one where the powerful one is worth it.
Final exam and certificate
Answer the questions. With 80% or more you get your Drommo Academy certificate with your name and the date you finished. You can try as many times as you want.
